Candied pecans

Ingredients

4 cups raw pecan halves
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
Pinch of fine sea salt
3 tbs ground cinnamon
1 tbs ground ginger
1 tbs nutmeg
2 egg whites
2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-Place pecans in crockpot.
-Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl evenly.
-Whisk vanilla and egg whites together until frothy.
-Coat pecans with egg mixture, stirring until all are evenly coated.
-Repeat with dry ingredients.
-Cook on low heat for 3 hours, stirring every 25-30 minutes so the bottom doesn’t burn.
-When time is up, place pecans on parchment paper to cool.
*for stronger flavor, soak pecans in fireball whiskey BEFORE roasting in the crockpot for several hours, Pat dry before putting in crockpot
