Classic British Sausages with Creamy Mash and Rich Onion Gravy

Dive into the heart of British cuisine with our Bangers and Mash topped with homemade onion gravy! Perfect comfort food for chilly evenings.

Ingredients:

8 sausages
4 large potatoes, peeled and quartered
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
Salt and pepper to taste
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Oil for cooking

Directions:

Begin by cooking the sausages. Heat a skillet with a bit of oil over medium heat. Add sausages and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
For the mashed potatoes, boil the quartered potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain well and return to the pot. Add milk and butter, then mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
To make the onion gravy, use the same skillet used for the sausages. Add sliced onions and cook over medium heat until they are caramelized, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.
Serve the sausages over the mashed potatoes and top with onion gravy.
