Apple Butter

Our apple butter recipe will fill your house with the warm, comforting aroma of cooking apples and spices.
Ingredients:
6 1/2 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Prepare the Apples:
Place the peeled, cored, and sliced apples in a slow cooker.
Add the Ingredients:
Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract to the slow cooker. Mix everything well to ensure the apples are evenly coated.
Slow Cook:
Cook the mixture in the slow cooker on low for about 10 hours, stirring every couple of hours. The apple butter should become thick and dark brown.
Blend (Optional):
If you prefer a smoother texture, use a blender to puree the apple butter until smooth.
Store:
Cover and refrigerate the apple butter for up to two weeks, or freeze it in small containers for longer storage.
