1 cup (240ml) salsa (mild, medium, or hot, depending on your preference)
1 cup (120g) shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend cheese)
1 cup (240ml) sour cream (optional, for serving)
1 cup (120g) shredded lettuce (optional, for topping)
1/2 cup (80g) diced tomatoes (optional, for topping)
Sliced black olives (optional, for topping)
Chopped cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Meat:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until fully browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the taco seasoning mix and water. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens. Set aside.

Prepare the Crescent Roll Dough:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish, pinching the seams together to form a solid crust.

Add Meat Mixture:
Spread the seasoned meat mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough.

Add Salsa and Cheese:
Pour the salsa evenly over the meat mixture.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent roll crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Cool and Serve:
Let the casserole cool slightly before cutting into squares.
Top with sour cream, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, black olives, and chopped cilantro, if desired.

Tips:

Customization:
Feel free to add other taco toppings or ingredients to the meat mixture, such as diced onions, bell peppers, or black beans.

Make it Spicy:
If you like it spicy, use a hot salsa or add some chopped jalapeños to the meat mixture.

Vegetarian Option:
You can use a vegetarian meat substitute or skip the meat entirely and add extra vegetables or beans.

This Pillsbury Crescent Roll Taco Bake is a tasty and convenient dish that’s sure to please the whole family. Enjoy!
