Ingredients:
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine cooked chicken, marinara sauce, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
Pour the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine Italian-style breadcrumbs, remaining Parmesan cheese, dried basil, dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Stir in olive oil until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the chicken mixture in the baking dish.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.
