Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg, lightly beaten
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Stir in the shredded cheese and finely chopped onion until evenly distributed.
In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and beaten egg.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined—be careful not to overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
