Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
1 cup (240g) cornmeal
2 tbsp hot sauce
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix buttermilk and hot sauce. Add shrimp, coating them well. Marinate for 15 minutes.
In another bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Dredge marinated shrimp in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
Fry shrimp in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Drizzle the fried shrimp with honey while still hot, tossing to coat evenly.
