1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp butter for frying

Instructions:

Prepare the Hamburger Steaks:
Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce. Mix until combined, but don’t overwork the meat.

Sauté Mushrooms (optional): In the same skillet, sauté the sliced mushrooms for 3-4 minutes until softened.
Make the Gravy: Add the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and the remaining 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer.
Bake:
Assemble: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the seared hamburger steaks in a baking dish. Pour the mushroom gravy over the top.
Top with Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the hamburger steaks.
Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the steaks are fully cooked and the cheese is melted.
Serve:

Serve the Amish Hamburger Steak Bake over mashed potatoes, rice, or with a side of buttered noodles for a comforting meal.
