Ingredients
- 1 Refrigerated pie crust
- 2 Apples peeled and chopped
- ¼ C. Granulated sugar
- ¼ tsp. Cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. Apple pie spice
- ½ C. Powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
- 1-2 Tbsp. Milk
- Oil for frying
How To Make Fried Apple Pies
- Place the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and apple pie spice in a skillet over medium heat. Cook until the apples have softened.
- Roll the crust out on a lightly floured surface.
- Use a 3-inch cookie cutter to cut 11-12 circles out of the dough.
- Place a tiny amount of filling in the center of each circle. Wet the outside edge of each circle of dough with cold water, and fold the dough over the filling forming a crescent shape. Pinch the edges closed, and use the tines of a fork to crimp the edges if desired.
- Heat the oil up in a deep-sided skillet over medium-high heat on the stove.
- Fry the pies for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove from the oil and set the pies on a paper towel-lined rack to cool.
- Mix together the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until you get a smooth consistency.
- Drizzle the icing over the warm pies and serve.
