Ingredients:

For the Steak Bites:

1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped (optional)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
For the Mashed Potatoes:

4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional for garlic mashed potatoes)
Fresh chives, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

Cook the Potatoes: Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Mash the Potatoes: Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, heavy cream or milk, and minced garlic (if using). Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
Prepare the Garlic Butter Steak Bites:

Season the Steak: Pat the steak bites dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
Cook the Steak Bites: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the fresh thyme or rosemary if using.
Combine and Coat: Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat them in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
Serve:

Plate the Dish: Serve the garlic butter steak bites hot, over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes.
Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with fresh parsley and chives if desired, and enjoy this rich, flavorful, and comforting meal!
Enjoy these savory, tender Homemade Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Mashed Potatoes, perfect for any occasion!
