Baked Chicken with Parmesan and Breaded Mushrooms

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper (to taste)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

For the Mushrooms:

1 cup sliced mushrooms (button or cremini)
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp dried thyme
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Chicken:

Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, and dried thyme.
Mix Coating: In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese and 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs.
Coat Chicken: Press the chicken breasts into the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides. Place the coated chicken breasts in a single layer in a baking tray.
Prepare the Mushrooms:

Toss Mushrooms: In a bowl, toss the sliced mushrooms with olive oil, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
Top Chicken: Spread the seasoned mushrooms evenly over the top of the chicken breasts in the baking tray.
Bake the Chicken:

Bake: Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The topping should be golden brown and crispy.
Finish and Serve:

Garnish: If desired, garnish with chopped fresh parsley for added color and flavor.
Serve: Serve the baked chicken hot from the oven, perhaps with a side of vegetables or a fresh salad.
