Oversized French Toast with Bacon and Cream Sauce

Ingredients:

For the French Toast:

4 thick slices of brioche or challah bread
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Butter (for cooking)

For the Bacon:

8 strips of bacon

For the Cream Sauce:

1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.

Prepare the French Toast Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.

Dip the Bread: Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.

Cook the French Toast: In a large skillet or griddle, melt butter over medium heat. Cook the soaked bread slices for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.

Make the Cream Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and warmed through.

Assemble the Dish: On a large plate, stack the oversized French toast slices. Top generously with crispy bacon, then drizzle the cream sauce over the entire stack.

Serve: Enjoy your decadent French toast with bacon and cream sauce immediately!
