Steak Fajitas Recipe

Steak fajitas are a delicious and flavorful dish that combines marinated steak with sautéed bell peppers and onions, all wrapped in warm tortillas. Perfect for a family dinner or a fun gathering

Ingredients:

Steak: 1.5 lbs flank steak or skirt steak
Bell Peppers: 2 medium (red and green), sliced
Onion: 1 large, sliced (yellow or red)
Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
Lime Juice: 2 tablespoons (freshly squeezed)
Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon
Cumin: 1 teaspoon
Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon
Paprika: 1 teaspoon
Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
Black Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
Tortillas: 8 flour or corn tortillas
Fresh Cilantro: for garnish (optional)
Sour Cream, Salsa, and Avocado: for serving (optional)

Directions:

Marinate the Steak:
In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Place the steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it.
Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2-4 hours for more flavor.

Prepare the Vegetables:
While the steak is marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion.

Cook the Steak:
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Remove the steak from the marinade and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness (135°F for medium-rare).
Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Sauté the Vegetables:
In the same skillet, add a little olive oil if needed and sauté the sliced bell peppers and onions for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly charred.

Slice the Steak:
Thinly slice the steak against the grain.

Assemble the Fajitas:
Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
Fill each tortilla with sliced steak, sautéed peppers, and onions.
Top with fresh cilantro and any desired toppings like sour cream, salsa, or avocado.

Serve:
Enjoy your steak fajitas with your favorite sides and toppings!

Tips:

For extra flavor, consider adding jalapeños or marinating the steak overnight.
You can substitute the steak with chicken or shrimp for different variations!
