Crock Pot Pepper Steak Recipe

This Crock Pot Pepper Steak is a flavorful, tender dish that cooks slowly, allowing all the flavors to meld together. Perfect for a busy day or when you want a comforting meal with minimal effort!

Ingredients:

Steak: 2 lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
Bell Peppers: 1 red, 1 green, and 1 yellow, sliced into strips
Onion: 1 large, sliced
Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
Beef Broth: 1 cup
Soy Sauce: 1/3 cup (use low sodium if preferred)
Worcestershire Sauce: 2 tablespoons
Brown Sugar: 1 tablespoon
Tomato Sauce: 1 (15 oz) can
Cornstarch: 1 tablespoon (for thickening)
Water: 1 tablespoon
Salt and Pepper: to taste
Cooked Rice: for serving

Directions:

Prep the Steak and Vegetables:
Slice the steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
Slice bell peppers and onion into strips.

Add Ingredients to the Crock Pot:
Place the steak, bell peppers, onion, and garlic in the Crock Pot.
In a medium bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and tomato sauce.
Pour the sauce mixture over the steak and vegetables.

Cook:
Cover and cook on Low for 5-6 hours or on High for 2-3 hours, until the steak is tender and the flavors are well combined.

Thicken the Sauce (Optional):
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth.
About 30 minutes before serving, add the cornstarch mixture to the Crock Pot, stirring well to combine. This will help thicken the sauce.

Serve:
Serve over cooked rice and enjoy!

Tips:

For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or some sliced jalapeños.
Feel free to add mushrooms or snow peas for additional veggies.
