Homemade Apple Cobbler
Ingredients:
6 cups tart apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup milk
Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, combine the apple slices, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.
3. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
5. Add the melted butter and milk to the dry mixture, stirring until it forms a thick batter.
6. Spoon the batter over the apples, spreading it evenly across the top.
7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and apples are tender.
8. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, if desired.
