Meaty Texas Trash Dip – a crowd-pleaser you can’t resist
Ingredients:
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 lb ground sausage
– 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
– 1 can (15 oz) corn, drained
– 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
– 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
– 1 cup sour cream
– 1 cup cream cheese, softened
– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
– Tortilla chips (for serving)
Directions:
Cook the Meats:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and sausage until browned, breaking them apart as they cook. Drain excess fat, if necessary.
Combine Ingredients:
Stir in the black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, and taco seasoning. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Add Dairy:
Reduce the heat to low, then mix in the sour cream and cream cheese. Stir until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
Cheesy Finish:
Remove the skillet from heat and fold in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese, saving the remaining cheese for topping.
Bake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
