Italian Meatball Spaghetti Stack

Ingredients:

1 lb (450g) spaghetti
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
3 cups marinara sauce
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a round baking dish with olive oil.
Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Shape the mixture into small meatballs (about 1-inch in diameter).
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs for 5-6 minutes until browned on all sides. Set aside.
In the greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked spaghetti, followed by half of the marinara sauce. Add a layer of meatballs on top. Repeat the layers with the remaining spaghetti, sauce, and meatballs.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
