Candied Pecans
These sweet and crunchy Candied Pecans are the perfect treat for snacking, gifting, or topping salads and desserts. With just a few simple ingredients, you’ll have a deliciously addictive snack in no time!
Ingredients:
1 lb pecan halves
1 egg white
1 tbsp water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional for extra warmth)
Directions:
1 Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
2 Whisk the coating:
In a large bowl, whisk the egg white and water until frothy.
3 Coat the pecans:
Add the pecans to the egg white mixture and toss until evenly coated.
4 Mix the sugar and spices:
In a separate bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Sprinkle this mixture over the pecans and toss until fully coated.
5 Bake:
Spread the coated pecans evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 40-45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even baking.
6 Cool and enjoy:
Remove from the oven and let the pecans cool completely on the baking sheet. They will crisp up as they cool.
