Homemade Fried Cheese Bites Recipe

Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, these fried cheese bites are the ultimate snack or appetizer for any cheese lover!

Ingredients

(Serves 4):
• 8 oz block of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your favorite)
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 large eggs
• 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best for extra crunch)
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Optional Dipping Sauces:
• Marinara sauce
• Ranch dressing
• Honey mustard

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cheese:
• Cut the block of cheese into bite-sized cubes, about 1 inch each. Place them on a baking sheet and freeze for 30-45 minutes. This helps the cheese hold its shape while frying.

2. Set Up the Breading Station:
• Place the flour in one shallow bowl. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

3. Bread the Cheese Bites:
• Coat each cheese cube in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture. For extra crunch, dip it back into the egg and breadcrumbs for a second coating.

4. Heat the Oil:
• Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Test with a breadcrumb—it should sizzle and float when the oil is ready.

5. Fry the Cheese Bites:
• Fry a few cheese bites at a time, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 30-60 seconds, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

6. Serve:
• Serve the cheese bites hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

These cheese bites are irresistible! Would you go classic with mozzarella or try a bold cheese like pepper jack?
