Feather Dumplings for Chicken and Dumplings

Ingredients

● 2 cups all-purpose flour

● 1 teaspoon salt

● 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional, can use more to taste)

● 1 tablespoon baking powder

● 1 egg, well beaten

● 2 tablespoons melted butter

● 2/3 cup full-fat milk

 Instructions

1 In a bowl, sift together the flour, salt, pepper (if using), and baking powder.

2 In another bowl, mix the egg with melted butter.

3 Add the egg and butter mixture to the dry ingredients, along with enough milk to make a semi-stiff batter (don’t overmix).

4 Drop spoonfuls of batter into the simmering broth. Cover the pot and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through.
