Fried Shrimp with Lobster Tail

“Crispy, golden, and decadently delicious — a seafood lover’s dream come true!”

Ingredients

For the Shrimp:

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)

Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)

For the Lobster Tail:

2 lobster tails, split and cleaned

2 tbsp butter, melted

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

For Serving:

Lemon wedges

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Dipping sauce of your choice (e.g., garlic aioli or spicy mayo)

Instructions

1 Prepare the Lobster Tails:

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

Split the lobster tails down the center and gently pull the meat out, resting it on top of the shell.

In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Brush the butter mixture over the lobster meat.

Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, until the meat is opaque and slightly firm.

2 Prepare the Shrimp Batter:

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the buttermilk.

3 Bread the Shrimp:

Dip each shrimp in the buttermilk mixture, letting any excess drip off.

Coat the shrimp in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Place the breaded shrimp on a plate and repeat until all the shrimp are coated.

4 Fry the Shrimp:

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Transfer the shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

5 Assemble and Serve:

Arrange the fried shrimp and baked lobster tails on a serving plate.

Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce for extra flavor!

Enjoy:

Savor the crispy, buttery goodness with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and your favorite sauce!
