One-Pan Sweet & Tangy BBQ Sausage Rice

This flavor-packed dish is the perfect quick and easy dinner! Juicy sausage, sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, and fluffy rice all come together in just one pan—because delicious meals don’t need a ton of dishes!

Ingredients

1 lb smoked sausage (sliced)
1 cup uncooked white rice
1 ½ cups chicken broth
½ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite!)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
1 cup bell peppers (diced)
½ cup onion (diced)
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt & pepper to taste
Green onions for garnish (optional)

Directions:

1 Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
2 In the same pan, sauté onions and bell peppers until softened.
3 Add rice, broth, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, honey, and seasonings. Stir well.
4 Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook on low for 15-18 minutes (or until rice is tender).

6 Garnish with green onions and serve warm!

Pro Tip: Swap out the sausage for shredded chicken or shrimp for a fun twist!
