12 Natural Homemade Cleaner Recipes

1. Floor Cleaner (Not for Hardwood Floors)
• 1 gallon warm water
• 1½ cups white vinegar
• 1 tsp natural dish soap (soapberries)
• A few drops of lemon essential oil

Instructions: Mix ingredients in a bucket. Dip a mop, wring out excess, and clean floors once or twice a week.

2. Mold/Mildew Cleaner
• Spray: 2 cups vinegar + 2 tsp tea tree oil (leave for 24 hours)
• Scrub Paste: ½ cup baking soda + ¼ cup rubbing alcohol + ½ tsp tea tree oil + ¼ cup water (scrub with a toothbrush, then wipe clean).

3. Multi-Purpose Cleaner

(Do not use on glass surfaces)
• ¾ cup water
• 1 tsp natural dish soap
• 1¼ cups rubbing alcohol
• A few drops of essential oil

Instructions: Mix, transfer to a spray bottle, and use on surfaces. Wipe with a damp cloth.

4. Sink Cleaner
• 2 cups baking soda
• 10 drops clove essential oil
• 10 drops lemon essential oil
• 1 tbsp castile soap

Instructions: Store in an airtight container. Sprinkle on the sink, scrub, and rinse.

5. Laundry Detergent
• 4 cups boiling filtered water
• 1 cup salt
• 1.5 cups baking soda
• 1 cup Sal Suds or castile soap
• 1 tsp lemon essential oil
• 16 cups filtered water

Instructions: Mix well, store, and use ¼ cup per load. Use vinegar as a fabric softener.

6. Heavy-Duty Kitchen Cleaner
• ½ cup natural dish soap
• 1 tsp water
• A few drops of clove essential oil
• ¼ cup baking soda

Instructions: Mix, apply with a sponge, scrub, then wipe clean.

7. Dishwasher Pods & Rinse Aid

Pods:
• 1 cup super washing soda
• 1 cup baking soda
• 1 cup salt
• 1 tsp natural dish soap
• 10 drops lemon essential oil

Instructions: Spray with water until it clumps, press into molds, let dry for 24 hours, store. Use 1-2 pods per wash.

Rinse Aid: Fill the rinse aid dispenser with white vinegar or place ½ cup vinegar in a dishwasher-safe bowl on the top rack.

8. Tile & Grout Cleaner

Paste: 2 parts baking soda + 1 part hydrogen peroxide + 1 part dish soap (apply, let sit, scrub, rinse).

Spray: 4 cups hot water + ¼ cup baking soda + ¼ cup rubbing alcohol + ¼ cup lemon juice + 30 drops lemon oil.

9. Disinfectant Cleaner
• ½ cup vinegar
• 1½ cups water
• 1 tsp olive oil
• 10 drops lemon oil
• 10 drops lavender oil

Instructions: Spray on surfaces, let sit for 10 minutes, then wipe.

10. Glass Cleaner
• 2 cups water
• ¼ cup white vinegar
• ¼ cup rubbing alcohol
• 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions: Shake before use, spray on glass, wipe, and let air dry.

11. Degreasing Cleaner

(Not for wood)
2 cups water
• 1 tbsp baking soda
• 2 tbsp lemon juice
• ½ tsp castile soap

Instructions: Mix, spray on surfaces, wipe with a damp microfiber cloth.

12. Toilet Cleaner

Pods:
• 1 cup baking soda
• ½ cup citric acid
• 1-2 tsp castile soap
• A few drops of lemon or tea tree oil

Instructions: Mix, press into a mold, let harden, store. Drop 1 pod in the toilet, let fizz, flush.

Liquid Cleaner:
• 2 cups water
• ½ cup baking soda
• ½ cup citric acid
• ½ cup castile soap
• A few drops of lemon or tea tree oil

Disinfectant Spray: Spray hydrogen peroxide on the toilet seat and lid, let sit, then wipe clean.
