The BEST Banana Bread Cookies

The BEST Banana Bread Cookies (Only 6 Ingredients!) – Soft, Sweet & Irresistible

If banana bread and cookies had a baby, this would be it. Warm, soft, and packed with banana flavor, these cookies are pure comfort in every bite. And the best part? You only need 6 simple ingredients and 15 minutes from start to finish!

When I handed my husband one fresh out of the oven, he took a bite… then another… and then stood at the counter eating four more before I could blink. Yep, they’re that good.

 Ingredients (Just 6!)

  • 1 ripe banana (the riper, the better!)
  • ½ cup sugar (white, brown, or a mix of both)
  • ¼ cup melted butter (or coconut oil for a dairy-free version)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional but highly recommended!)

Optional Add-ins: 1 tsp vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, ½ cup chocolate chips, chopped walnuts, or pecans.

How to Make Banana Bread Cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mash the banana until smooth.
  3. Stir in the sugar and melted butter. Mix well.
  4. Add the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir until just combined — don’t overmix!
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. The dough will be soft, but that’s perfect!
  6. Bake for 9 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look just set.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
