 Ingredients:

For the crust:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For the filling:

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chopped or whole pecans (your choice)
  • Directions:

Step 1: Make the crust

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together melted butter, flour, brown sugar, and salt until it forms a soft, crumbly dough.
  3. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of your pan.
  4. Bake for 15–18 minutes until lightly golden. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 2: Make the filling

  1. In another bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth.
  2. Add corn syrup, dark brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir until well combined.
  3. Fold in the pecans gently.

Step 3: Assemble and bake

  1. Pour the filling over the baked crust.
  2. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is set and slightly cracked.
  3. Let cool completely in the pan before slicing (at least 2 hours is best for clean cuts).

Serving Suggestions:

  • Cut into squares or bars and dust with powdered sugar for extra flair.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat.
