Ingredients
Protein & Veggies
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- ½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
For the Hoisin Stir-Fry Sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Instructions
1. Marinate the Beef and Shrimp
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until well combined.
- Add the sliced beef and shrimp to the bowl, tossing to coat.
- Cover and marinate for 20 minutes in the refrigerator while prepping your vegetables.
Tip: For extra flavor, marinate for up to 1 hour.
2. Sauté the Garlic
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, just until fragrant.
3. Cook the Beef and Shrimp
- Add the marinated beef and shrimp to the skillet.
- Cook, stirring frequently, for 5–7 minutes, or until the beef is browned and the shrimp turns pink and opaque.
Note: Be careful not to overcook the shrimp—once they curl and turn opaque, they’re done!
4. Add the Vegetables
- Add the sliced red bell pepper and broccoli florets to the skillet.
- Stir-fry for an additional 3–4 minutes, or until the vegetables are just tender-crisp.
- Pour in any remaining marinade and cook for 2 more minutes, stirring to coat everything evenly and heat the sauce through.
5. Serve
- Serve hot, directly from the skillet, over a bed of steamed rice, fried rice, or noodles.
- Garnish with optional toppings like toasted sesame seeds, green onions, or chopped cilantro for extra flair.
Serving Suggestions
- Steamed jasmine or basmati rice
- Lo mein, soba, or rice noodles

Storage & Leftovers
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently on the stovetop over medium-low heat or in the microwave.
- Add a splash of soy sauce or water when reheating if the sauce thickens too much.
