Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits Recipe (Melt-in-Your-Mouth & Easy!)
These Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits are the ultimate comfort food—pillowy soft, golden on the outside, and outrageously rich and flavorful thanks to a base of butter, sour cream, and 7-Up. With just 4 ingredients and almost no prep time, this recipe is shockingly easy and guaranteed to impress your guests or family. Serve them warm with butter and jam or alongside your favorite Southern-style dinners.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter
- 4 ½ cups Bisquick (or any all-purpose baking mix)
- 1 cup 7-Up (or any lemon-lime soda)
- 1 cup sour cream (use full-fat for best texture)
Directions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Melt the Butter:
Place the stick of butter directly into a 9×13-inch baking dish and put it in the oven while it preheats. Leave it in just until the butter is melted—do not brown it. Once melted, carefully remove the dish from the oven and set aside.
3. Mix the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the Bisquick, sour cream, and 7-Up. The dough will be very soft and sticky—this is normal!
4. Form the Biscuits:
Lightly flour your hands or a clean surface, and gently turn out the dough. Pat it down to about 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits. Alternatively, you can simply drop spoonfuls of dough directly into the buttered baking dish for a more rustic style.
5. Bake:
Place the biscuits into the baking dish on top of the melted butter. It’s okay if they touch—this helps them stay soft. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the edges are crispy from the butter.
Serving Suggestions:
These rich, buttery biscuits are perfect served hot out of the oven with:
- Fried chicken
- Creamy sausage gravy
- Chili
- Eggs and bacon for breakfast
- Or simply slathered with honey or jam
Storage:
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5–7 minutes or microwave for 30 seconds.
Tips for Success:
- Use full-fat sour cream for a richer, fluffier result.
- Don’t overwork the dough—gentle handling keeps them light.
