SAUSAGE DIPPED PANCAKES

The Perfect Sweet-and-Savory Breakfast Combo

If you’re tired of the same old breakfast, it’s time to try something fun, comforting, and absolutely delicious—Sausage Dipped Pancakes! These are golden, fluffy pancakes wrapped around juicy breakfast sausages, served with a drizzle of maple syrup. It’s like a corn dog, but for breakfast—and yes, it’s just as amazing as it sounds.

 Ingredients:

For the sausage:

  • 8 breakfast sausage links or patties (pork, beef, or turkey)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil or butter (for frying)

For the pancake batter:

  • 1½ cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1¼ cups (300ml) milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (plus extra for the pan)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For serving:

  • Pure maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
  • Fresh fruit (optional)

 Instructions:

1. Cook the Sausages:

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a small amount of oil or butter and cook the sausages until golden brown and fully cooked (about 6–8 minutes). Set aside on paper towels to drain any excess grease and let them cool slightly.

2. Make the Pancake Batter:

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Don’t overmix—some lumps are okay.

3. Dip & Cook:

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.
Using tongs, dip each sausage into the pancake batter, coating it completely.
Place it gently on the skillet and cook for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Flip carefully and cook the other side.

4. Serve:

Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled over the top. Dust with powdered sugar for extra sweetness. Add fresh berries or sliced bananas for a fruity twist.

 Tips & Variations:

  • Crispier Finish: Add a bit of cornmeal to the batter for a slightly crisp outer layer.
  • Spicy Kick: Try spicy sausage for a bold contrast with the sweet pancake.
  • Mini Version: Cut sausages in half and make mini versions for kids or parties.
  • Freezer Friendly: After cooling, wrap in foil or store in airtight containers. Reheat in microwave or air fryer.
