Cheesy Hamburger and Potato Casserole

Ingredients:

For the casserole:
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cups frozen hash browns
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup milk
1 cup crushed potato chips (for topping)

Directions:

Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
Prepare the casserole mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and onion with cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
Assemble the casserole: Spread the frozen hash browns in the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the beef mixture over the hash browns and spread it evenly. Pour the milk over the top and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the crushed potato chips on top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
