Delicious Lasagna Recipe
Ingredients
For the Lasagna:
12 lasagna noodles
1 pound ground sausage
1 pound mushrooms, sliced
2 cups ricotta cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups marinara sauce
1 egg
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Noodles
Boil Lasagna Noodles: Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Filling
Cook Sausage and Mushrooms: In a large skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are softened. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat.
Mix Cheese Filling: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Step 3: Assemble the Lasagna
Layer Ingredients: In a large rectangular baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top.
Add Cheese Mixture: Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, then add half of the sausage and mushroom mixture. Top with more marinara sauce.
Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers two more times, ending with noodles and marinara sauce on top. Finish with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Step 4: Bake
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cover and Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Step 5: Serve
Slice and Enjoy: Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy each cheesy, delicious bite!
Tips
For added flavor, you can mix in spinach or other vegetables into the sausage and mushroom filling.
