Chocolate Fudge with Nuts
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or your choice)
1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Prepare the Pan:
Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Grease lightly.
Melt the Butter:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until combined.
Cook the Mixture:
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly. Let it boil for about 5 minutes, continuing to stir to prevent burning.
Add Chocolate:
Remove from heat and immediately stir in the chocolate chips until completely melted and smooth.
Add Flavor and Nuts:
Stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and chopped nuts until evenly distributed.
Pour and Chill:
Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Allow it to cool at room temperature for about an hour, then transfer to the fridge to set for at least 2 hours.
Cut and Serve:
Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Cut into squares. For that extra touch, take a piece of fudge and place it on top of another piece for serving.
Enjoy:
Let the fudge sit at room temperature for a bit before serving, allowing the edges to soften slightly.
Tips:
For a more decadent touch, you can drizzle melted chocolate over the top before cutting.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the fridge for longer freshness.
Enjoy your rich and nutty chocolate fudge!
