Salisbury Steak
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
Gravy Ingredients:
2 cups beef broth
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes Ingredients:
4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 cloves roasted garlic, mashed
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Salisbury Steak:
Make the steak patties: In a bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into 4 oval patties.
Cook the patties: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
Gravy:
Make the gravy: In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in flour, cooking for 1 minute. Slowly add beef broth while whisking, then add tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Return patties: Add the Salisbury steaks back to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer for 10 minutes until fully cooked.
