Biscuits & Gravy Casserole

A hearty and comforting Southern-style breakfast casserole made with fluffy biscuits, savory sausage gravy, eggs, and melted cheese — perfect for feeding a hungry crowd!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 package (1.5 oz) of peppered sausage gravy mix (like Pioneer Brand)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough (optional but recommended)

Instructions:

Step 1: Cook the sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the gravy

In a saucepan, whisk the gravy mix with water according to the package directions. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Stir in the cooked sausage and mix well.

Step 3: Beat the eggs

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.

Step 4: Assemble the casserole

  • Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  • If using biscuit dough, cut each biscuit into quarters and spread them evenly on the bottom.
  • Pour the sausage gravy mixture over the biscuits.
  • Pour the egg mixture on top.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over everything.

Step 5: Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden and bubbly.
