Biscuits & Gravy Casserole
A hearty and comforting Southern-style breakfast casserole made with fluffy biscuits, savory sausage gravy, eggs, and melted cheese — perfect for feeding a hungry crowd!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground sausage
- 1 package (1.5 oz) of peppered sausage gravy mix (like Pioneer Brand)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough (optional but recommended)
Instructions:
Step 1: Cook the sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the gravy
In a saucepan, whisk the gravy mix with water according to the package directions. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Stir in the cooked sausage and mix well.
Step 3: Beat the eggs
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
Step 4: Assemble the casserole
- Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- If using biscuit dough, cut each biscuit into quarters and spread them evenly on the bottom.
- Pour the sausage gravy mixture over the biscuits.
- Pour the egg mixture on top.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over everything.
Step 5: Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden and bubbly.
