Yarrow-Infused Healing Tea – Ancient Herbal Remedy for Immunity & Inflammation Relief
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) has been used for centuries in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and blood-regulating properties. This healing tea is perfect when you’re feeling under the weather, battling mild cramps, or needing a gentle immune boost.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon dried yarrow leaves and flowers (or 2 tablespoons fresh)
- 1 teaspoon dried peppermint (optional – for taste and digestion)
- 1 teaspoon dried chamomile (optional – for calming effect)
- 2 cups filtered water
- Raw honey or lemon (optional, to taste)
Instructions:
- Boil Water: Bring 2 cups of filtered water to a gentle boil.
- Add Herbs: Place the yarrow (and any optional herbs) into a teapot or heatproof jar.
- Steep: Pour the boiling water over the herbs. Cover and let steep for 10–15 minutes.
- Strain: Use a fine mesh strainer to remove the herbs.
- Flavor (Optional): Add a teaspoon of raw honey or a slice of lemon if desired.
Health Benefits:
- Fever Reduction: Encourages sweating to break fevers.
- Digestive Support: Eases bloating, indigestion, and cramping.
- Wound Healing (Internally): Its antimicrobial compounds help the body fight off infections.
- Menstrual Relief: Known to ease menstrual cramps and regulate flow.
- Anti-inflammatory: Helps reduce internal inflammation in the gut and joints.
Caution:
- Avoid during pregnancy (can stimulate the uterus).
- Not recommended for long-term use without herbalist guidance.
- Always check for allergic reactions, especially if you have ragweed allergies.
Bonus Tip:
You can also make a cold infusion by soaking the herbs overnight in cool water to preserve more volatile compounds — especially great during hot weather.
